Game-changing countdown

Veins here, again, but with slightly better news to share.

As you may know, we had many delays and we were struggling to find a solution to this problem. Titan was preoccupied with personal matters for months. During that time I tried to keep my chin up and work on the game. Until I kind of cracked... I couldn't work alone while waiting for something to happen.

Titan kept promising me stuff but everything kept failing so I decided to take things in my own hands. We agreed that we should have a new programmer, at least for the level design. After spending the whole of January looking round, I found 4 and we decided to try one of them. The new programmer delivered a good looking level by the next day. Still though, it was 90% complete and it would need Titan to check it and place it into the game. It looked promising and I would love to hire even more programmers to finish the game sooner. Unfortunately, Titan was busy for almost 2 weeks and the programmer, waiting on Titian, wished to move into new things. To me that meant that no matter how many programmers we have, Titan will always be the middle man which would mean further delays.

That brings us to last week. Titan convinced the programmer to work on our game some more. And he promised me that he can finish the Beta by Monday, which was yesterday (which is something I heard over 8 times since September). Right now I have no patience left and obviously this cannot go on like this for any longer. With the walls closing around me, I made a bold proposition to Titan: in my search for programmers, I found a company who is willing to take on the entire game. I can run things my self but Titan won't be able to program the game anymore. He will of course be around as a helping hand, whenever he can and we will use the Patreon money to pay them. Titan didn't like it of course, but he realizes that we don't have any other viable options. Sacrifices need to be made for the greater good.

So me and Titan made a bet. If by the end of February he doesn't deliver the new Beta and if he doesn't change somehow his life in order to be able to work on this game in a punctual manner, then we will give the programming aspect of the game to a company. So this is up to Titan now and the clock is ticking.

Either way, these are good news for the game itself. We found a company who can finish the game and we have the Patreon money to pay them. And it's a chain reaction: if the game is good and the Beta releases are often, then hopefully, more people will support us on Patreon. Then more content it will be made and the game will keep getting better!

In search of new programmers

Veins here.

Guh.. today I'm in such a bad mood... well I'm in a bad mood for several months now, and I feel the need to vent. I really hate it that we only had 1 beta during 2016. We tried everything we could to make this work but it became obvious that we need programming help. It was hard for Titan to admit that but there is no other way at this point. And that's fine, we make mistakes or we have to bow to real life pressures but we also need to strength to admit it.

I was so angry during xmas that I couldn't even try to write a post here. 2016 was a major waste of time. Actually for the past 2 months I was so depressed that I couldnt find myself to do any new art, waiting for a miracle to happen, hoping that something will change for the best. But nothing did.

So anyway, I knew we couldn't go on like that and I already feel bad for having a Patreon and not delivering anything for months. Titan found a guy to do some of the levels but again, 2 months have passed without any progress. I talked to a few of my online friends (Vortex00, Dorago etc) and suggested to me a few sites where we can hire programmers. They also helped me keep my sanity a little longer. At that time I had zero willpower, plus I was sick for two weeks, delirious from fever. My cousin came from abroad that week and we didnt even had the chance to play MoGi Cardfight!

Well, little by little I tried to force my self to wake up and take action. I posted an ad on some site and we got a few replies from programmers interested in the game. 6 programmers replied to me the last few days and I felt hopeful. But soon after my mood started to spiral downwards once again.

Yesterday, I was talking just fine with 2 of them about the problems they would face and all that. But when they realized that the game has sexual content in it, not only rejected the job (which is fair) but they also blocked me. I'm not a jerk to release their names but that's their Skype messages. Anyways, Guy #1 literally cursed the game it self. Guy#2 kindly rejected the job but he still blocked me in Skype all of a sudden.

I get it, they dont want to be associated with a hentai game. But what kind of professionals are they when they suddenly leave the chat and they block the person they are chatting to? They didn't even gave me the chance to explain myself: Voms has to beat (or avoid) the MoGi because they tempt him and slow him down. Voms also tries to talk the MoGi Queens out of resolving to violence. It was the very premise and concept of the game that the girls won't be victims. This is not a dark hentai game where girls get beaten and raped. It's quite the opposite here.. the men are victims of femdom!

Let's humor Guy#1 who didn't gave me the chance to explain myself. Let's see what Sexism means:
1. Discrimination based on gender, especially discrimination against women.
2. The belief that one gender is superior to the other, especially that men are superior to women.
also, "relating to or characterized by prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex."

I really dont think those things apply to MoGi Origins. I don't see any discrimination apart from the fact that the MoGi are not human. Also, they force men to have sex with them, which makes them superior to men. Once you play the game it becomes clear that the MoGi attack first and Voms has to defend himself in order to save the island. If you look at the NPCs, both women and men wear same outfits and they all appear to be pretty normal. If that's not gender equality, I don't know what is! Guy#1 said he doesn't mind sex, violence and even racism. And then changes his mind and blocks me. Well if he doesn't mind racism then I should be the one to block him in the first place!

In any case, we got a few more proposals. One guy seems to be good and he is fine with sexual content but he is too expensive and the other guy... well we implied to him that we are making a +18 rated game but I haven't really told him that it's a hentai game. At this point I don't know if I should lie about it... These programmers would just do the levels, without any H-images involved. I don't want to lie but I want the job done! My head hurts dealing with all that... why life isn't any easier?

A true professional would do the job even if he dislikes the content, because that's what the definition of doing a job. Like the 12th definition of Urban Dictionary says: Job - Something I have to do to pay my bills, but seems impossible to do without some horrible physical or emotional consequence.

It's A New Year

A year has passed.

In retrospect, it hasn't been the most positive year. Not for our fans, or for the world in general and definitely not for me.  I'm the one posting this. The programmer TitanAnteus. I'm not going to mince words with you. This delay on the game has been more than 100% my fault.

I mean look at this.

That's just a small piece of what's done already from an artistic standpoint.  I've been dealing with personal struggles that I don't feel comfortable telling everyone, but I've also had the pure HUBRIS to think it wouldn't affect me on a professional level.  Let's not forget, I've had computer issues forcing me to upgrade to win10 which had a negative impact on the code. The game ran differently, and I was working to get it to feel the same as b4 the update, and... well everything I say will just sound like complaints so I'll stop with that.

This is a New Year.

I'm making it my personal New Year's Resolution to it that things change. On my part. Personally. I don't know what more I can say.  I could've kept this all to myself as I tried to make changes in my life, but even with the risk of what this could do to me, I'm willing to bear it out there anyway. Because you deserve to know.

If there are any GM programmers out there who would want to help us out, please message us on the contact form. We've got a level designer, so we just need an all-rounder programmer.

Things to look forward

This year was a real bummer in many aspects. Only 1 beta release, many delays, bugs and so on. We do realize that this hurts the game, our name and any possible future projects. We tried to set deadlines but we failed to meet them due to personal issues and other aspects. We tried hard over and over but we kind of failed.

We thought that Patreon was going to change things, but 2 months into Patreon and still not new beta release. Things started to look grim. Veins never lost focus and kept doing his part. He divided the work it needs to be done and calculated that if everything works well, he will finish all the game art by August 2017. Titan had personal and programming issues and was trying to cope with everything while working part-time on the game. After a few struggling months, Titan managed to find a new programmer to train and help with the time-consuming level design. He will also move to a new place during December (thanks to the Patreon money) and hopefully this will get things back on track.

With Veins ahead in the art department and 2 programmers on the game things start to look bright. Titan will start working full time once again and the updates should be more frequent from now on. The project survives thanks to patience, hard work, reasonable discussions and of course you guys... the people who support us have become the glue that held us together even in the darkest of times.

We will let you with a few new additions planned for the game. This is something that many of you have asked since the early days of development, move ways for Voms to attack!

  • New GUI: Energy and sub-weapons will be now displayed.
  • 8 sub weapons can be used to fight enemies
  • Energy canisters are essential for the activation of sub-weapons. The Energy points were introduced in "MoGi Cardfight" and Voms is glad to use them here as well!

Short description of sub-weapons in order:
  1. Bullet: An energy ball is shot in a straight line.
  2. Triple Bullet: Three energy balls are shot in the same direction but in different angles.
  3. BigBlast: A huge blast that causes 3 damage to all enemies in a straight line.
  4. Burst: An energy ball is shot in a straight line but explodes when you fire for a second time.
  5. Laser: Causes 1 damage to all enemies in a straight line.
  6. Beam: An energy beam is shot in a straight line and freezes all enemies for a bit.
  7. ForceField: Shield that protects from attacks and hazards for a few seconds.
  8. Gas: Short range but deadly. Like a flamethrower
All the art regarding GUI, sub-weapon power ups, sub-weapon animations and Rockgirls Turquoise and Bloodstone is finalized. We aim to share our progress with you when we release the new Beta, very soon!

Bloodstone milestone!

We'd like to thank each and every one of you that have supported us this far! Bloodstone has already been designed out combat-wise and visually. We wish you the best of luck whenever you face her!

RockGirl Bloodstone will probably appear in the 2nd Beta from now. In the next Beta we will see Turquoise. The next Stretch Goal is going to be a Hostage Rape with a MoGi and a position voted by our Patrons!

Some stats
With RockGirls Turquoise and Bloodstone making it into the game, many of our previous stats have changed. The MoGi enemy number has increased to 12 MoGi out of 17 total (70.6%). 3 of them, Turquoise, Bloodstone and Leshy don't have individual sex scenes.

Extra MoGi (Mogi that we added without pledges) are currently 11 out of 13 (84.63%). These include enemy MoGi such as Gold and Toadstool, HR MoGi such as SlimeGirl Orange and a few NPC MoGi (that havent been in the game yet) such as Medusa and Scorpion. We plan to add all 36 Mogi in the game, one way or another, or even both ways, since some MoGi appear as enemies and as HR.

Mogi Rapes remain at 5/7 (71%) but hopefully this number will change soon thanks to Patreon Goals.

First Patreon Goal, reached!

Thanks to our patrons, RockGirl Turquoise will be added in the game!

We created our Patreon six days ago and thanks to your support we reached our first Goal! It was a small Goal about a chibi MoGi without a sex scene. But all great things start small, right?

This was the 1st in a series of 12 milestones. Turquoise is already designed and we will try to include her in the next Beta release. We're currently working on adding some puzzles in the game. Once we are done with all that we will release the new version.

We're very happy to be making this colorful world, but we're even happier that you guys are enjoying it too! Besides Patreon, we want to thank you for your constant support, patience and even brainstorming ideas and share them with us. Each one of you has the opportunity to influence the game. Slimegirl Black and Succubus' role would not have been the same if it wasn't for your feedback.

If you want to help us further, please spread the word! The more patrons we have, the faster we will reach our next Goals. Let the world know that Team Erogi is on Patreon and makes hentai games! Here are a few links that you might like to share in various sites and social media:

Team Erogi on Patreon!

We are in Patreon! Why? Because we want to continue making awesome Hentai games! This is not a Patreon about MoGi Origins, but a support device for Team Erogi and any future games we may make! We are low on funds for a while now and if we get forced to get a job elsewhere... that would delay
MoGi Origins even more. It takes a lot of time and effort to complete such a big game and that's why we need your help. But let's be positive about this! The following video is just a glimpse of what we achieved so far and what to expect in the near future!

Patreon Rewards:
We tried to avoid anything that will make us delay the making of MoGi Origins. Most of the
rewards are images/animations essential for the game or already completed, and in-game rewards which are easy-peasy to add. Once all the images are given away (it will take a while), they will loop and given again, in the same order. We wanted all Rewards to be... rewarding!

Patreon Stretch Goals in detail: (That's the real game changer... literally!)
The first goals are adding the two chibi RockGirls. You might not care about them because they won't have sex scenes. But they are easy to do because they are basically clones of Chibi Ucogi, so it's a small early addition.
Later on we have 4 new Hostage Rapes. They will be decided by Patreon poll. If we reach those goals we will have a total of 11 HR. Then we can have one HR per region, making the exploration element perfectly consistent.
Then we have the long awaited Nude Alice mode! The story will reveal her mysterious past, and it will answer why she kills anyone who sees her naked! Nude Alice will have a new level (10 areas), including 3 male enemies that can violate her in various ways. This dark mode will be in contrast with the bright theme of MoGi Origins in many levels.
The next 3 goals are new MoGi that will also be decided by Patreon poll.
Originally there was to be 12 Mogi. Then we added 2 extra MoGi, pushing their number to 14. Now we have the opportunity to have 17 (excluding the two chibi Rockgirls). It's gonna be chaos! xD
Complete Vor sex scenes! This is a huge goal! Vor would be able to have sex not only with the Queens he faces, but also with every MoGi! That's 20 new sex scenes! Vor's sex scenes will make male-dominant and on demand, unlike we have seen so far with Voms! Don't worry, it's not much of a rape if you fuck willing girls. Or is it? We dont know, because they will be decided by Patreon poll!
•  Ucogi and Alice lesbian sex scenes! Ok this is the hugest goal of them all! I know that word doesn't exist but this goal is so out of reach... it's fitting! Ucogi and Alice will be raped by MoGi in 20 different ways that will be decided by Patreon poll! Imagine the possibilities.. even SlimeGirls can grow cocks and fuck them! That's not futa, right? ^^;

Phew, that's quite a list! Nude Alice and Vor/Ucogi/Alice sex scenes are a big risk... if we reach that financial goal we have to keep our promise. That means that if the Patreon income decreases dramatically, we still have to deliver! It's a bet, and for that reason we set those goals a bit high.

Our thoughts and concerns:
We do realize that these Goals will make the game development longer. On the other hand the sheer content size will make MoGi Origins a must-have H-game! That is if the Memory problem doesnt return... ^^; If that happens we have a plan B (and C) but that chance is slim since GM has fixed many of these issues.

Also, the higher Goals won't delay Voms' game, because we will finish his story before we move on to other characters. It will take a while for Veins to make all this art, sure, but as you've seen in the video, a lot of unseen art is done (such as SlimeGirl's Red and the Soldier animations) so Titan has a lot of ground to catch up. So yeah, while Titan is finishing the game it self, Veins will have the spare time to work on those extra hot animations! ;)

We want to thank everyone that's supported us and pushed us into doing this,
and we want everyone to know that we've thoroughly listened to all of your feedback.
